HAND DRYER OPTIONS

Question:

Hand Dryer Expert,

We are looking for hand dryer options that do not involve paper towel dispensers. It is for a high end restaurant where noise disturbance to patrons in the dining room needs to be avoided. I was curious if there are any air dryers that are quiet enough for our needs? Some of the descriptions say ‘quiet operation’ or ‘less noise’ but we’d like to hear some examples if possible. Of course we would appreciate your thoughts if you know of any other options as well.

As a rule of thumb, the faster the hand dryer, the louder it is. Therefore, you need to know that a quieter hand dryer will not be as effective as a louder hand dryer. However there are a lot of good quiet hand dryers on the market made by Excel Dryer, American Dryer and World Dryer.

We like the World Dryer Model A because it is a very durable, dryer with a 25 – 30 second dry time.  There are some others that are quieter, but they are also a little slower. 

 

You can see this video for a comparison of noise levels. Most of them are high speed hand dryers, which are too loud, but it also includes the Model A. 

The Excel Cast series hand dryers are fairly quiet. As are the American Dryer DR hand dryers.
